AVARAM OP-ED / The Election

TCOPINIONtheconservative dec09election

I must begin by confessing that I hardly imagined I would be in the position I currently am.  I am honored that so many Titulians have spoken out in favor of my candidacy; I am truly grateful.
As the President of the Progressive Federalist Party can tell you, I entered this race as a matter of principle, not political posturing.  My goal was not to get votes, but it was to wake up our leaders in Titulia to listen to the voice of the people again.
It is your voice that governs this Republic, not the Admin's, not the President's, not some select committee.  We the People are the essence of this nation, moreso than any country on the planet.  Our proposition system, though it has its flaws, represents one of the clearest cases of Direct Democracy in existence - and we should do all within our power to ensure its continuation.
If given the honor of serving you as President, I will seek to involve you in every step of the process.  A clear, transparent government that will put at its priorities the ones you have listed.
I promise to put an ardent leader in developing those tools necessary for doing trade, the foundations of an economy.
I promise to be your constant advocate to the Administrator of the Website.  Through respectful, but staunch, dialogue, I believe we can stand firm for the rights of the true Republic we all yearn for.
I promise to move forward on essential political reforms on your timetable, including you in every step of the process.
I promise to work with all parties, for I currently hold allegiance to none.
If elected President of the Republic, you have my earnest pledge that I will listen to all voices, even those I disagree with, and it will be the policy of my Administration to belittle no one, regardless of who they are.  Our experiment relies on the innovative ideas of us all.  Individually, each and every citizen brings a different and necessary perspective to the table that must be considered.  Titulia is about re-writing the rules.  Collectively, we must learn to work together, for there is much we can agree.
These are my commitments to bettering the Republic.  Regardless of the outcome of the election, I hope that both current President Hock and myself have broadened our perspectives to include your concerns for the future.  If this is true, then the campaign has been a success.

For the Republic!
Luxis Avaram
Independent Candidate for President
