President Hock’s acceptance speech

dec09election

courtesy The Titulia Post

First of all, I would like to thank Dr. M, Gerry Brady, and Luxis Avaram for their enthusiastic campaigns.  As the second round of voting was between myself and Luxis, I would like to give him an extra special thanks and good job for a civil and thoughtful debate.
I want to thank everyone that voted in this last election...it is great to see activity!  Obviously, I would like to thank those who supported me, I am deeply honored by your vote.  I am humbled, and I feel a deep responsibility to everyone to work hard to achieve what I have set out to do.  I hope I do not disappoint.
I start now seeking bipartisanship.  I value and need diversity in this administration.  That has already started with the nomination proposition of Alex Pijanowski for Vice President.  Even though I have stated before the election that he was my choice for VP, I want there to be no question as to the legitimacy of him gaining his position.  In the coming days, you will see nominations for positions for citizens of many political thoughts and backgrounds.  I ask for your support, your candor, and debate.  I hope the civility in which I am acting is replicated throughout the Republic.  I am not asking for blind support or no debate.  Let's attack the problems we face together.  Let's express our differing views in a way that helps the other person see your side better.
To be honest, I have nothing to gain by how well my second term goes.  There is no 3rd consecutive term I am seeking.   But I stand just as firm and with resolve to accomplish what I have said I will do.  I will continue to be an honest and civil President and will do my hardest to maintain the integrity of the office of the President.
Thank you.  Be active!  Let your voice be heard!

                                           - President Gregory Hock
