TITULIA CITY (RNC Daily) | The RNC as a whole is very satisfied with the election of TJ Norton as President and the end of the LN-SDP backed governments. However, several RNC Members are dissatisfied with the recent cabinet announcements of Gregory Hock (LN) and Reformer (SDP). An RNC source said they were expecting “James Matthews to be Attorney General” as he was an outspoken legal critic and leading LRP legal voice.
The RNC is somewhat satisfied with the test legislature that Mr. Norton has set up. However, as seen by the RNC-owned Titulians for a Parliament site – they still strongly support a parliamentary system. In a TNC interview, Mr. Norton said :
“The LRP-RNC Coalition policy is clear - we are in favour of a more democratic, inclusive, parliamentary model. Before we get to that there is the greater legal issue in the process - the "Codex Bill" is law. No Administration can override the will of the legislature (although some in the past have in certain areas - enough said)
The process isn't as easy as what some might think. If we were to go down the alternative path, we would first need to repeal the existing law. Following the fallout it would cause by doing so, it would be close to impossible to get a ratified parliamentary model approved by the legislature….
..As President, my duty is to work with the legislature to see their laws come into reality. It's my official position to work with Codex on doing what I can to see his hard work come to life and that's what the people have asked the Government to do in passing that law.”
Following that interview, RNC Leadership sources say that RNC Leader JP9893 “still supports President Norton and his efforts to bring a legislature to Titulia. However, we can agree to disagree that the Codex model is not what the RNC supports.”
Former Pres. Julian (R) has made an announcement to run for the North District seat– pending the approval of RNC Leader JP9893.
However, an RNC Manifesto Commission/Titulians for a Parliament spokesperson says “we endorse this as a test legislature, but we want to transition to a parliamentary method by repealing the Codex proposal and implementing a better, more active government once we have a more active citizenry”
