In a statement released today to the RNC Daily, Deputy Leader of the RNC Luxis Avaram attacked the notion of nominating Mr. James Inglis for the Presidency.
"If our party is to get on the path of returning to the halls of power and being taken seriously again, then we should endorse competent candidates. The fact that the Party Leader would even suggest this notion is insulting. I hope he will reconsider."
No member of the RNC put their name up for nomination in this election, and the party leadership at the RNC has appeared hesitant to put up an official party endorsement for any candidates. Disagreements over the LRP-RNC Coalition break-down still leave wounds among party members.
Deputy Leader Avaram was quoted as stating that "politics has swings and shifts. If we as a party are going to let personal slights set platform, we're going to find ourselves in the desert for a long time. Let's take a look at the principles of the parties involved and their records of governance. I know this will always guide my vote, and it should all citizens, for that matter."
Rumblings among the party leadership and JP's forthcoming statements all lead many to wonder as to Mr. Avaram's future as Deputy Leader.
