In a move that may have surprised many political observers, President TJ Norton (LRP) has pronounced that he will not run for re-election. Proclaiming that his Administration has shifted to a Government "caretaker mode," President Norton has asked the Liberal Republican Party to declare a nominee for President and move forward to the next electoral cycle.
According to the Poll before the Republic, President Norton appears to enjoy some approval among the populace. While it is difficult to gauge the accuracy of this measure, President Norton garners the support of Titulians 12-3 in the Poll put up by former President Gregory Hock.
With such a popular incumbent backing out of the race, what will this mean for the jockeying of other parties within the Republic? What candidates will fill the vacuum? The RNC Daily is still awaiting statements on the matter from Party Leader JP9893 and others.
